Leo Campbell FRAIA is the principal and a director of Campbell Luscombe Architects and the senior design director with an awarded background in aged care and seniors’ housing work, education buildings and heritage infill projects. He has over thirty seven years experience as a practicing architect and is the recipient of a number of architectural and industry awards.
He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian Institute of Architects and a founding member of the Australian Architecture Association. He is highly respected in the aged care and seniors living sector having designed a number of significant projects, including the pivotal and industry award winning ‘Waterbrook’ at Yowie Bay, a landmark in seniors’ living facilities, which won the 2001 Urban Development Award for Retirement Living from the Urban Development Institute of Australia (NSW). In 2005 was awarded ‘Architect of the Year’ at the Seniors Housing Industry Awards. In 2007, at the National “Ageing Population Summit” in Brisbane, with other industry authorities, including the federal Minister for Ageing, he delivered a paper on the architecture of seniors friendly communities.
Campbell Luscombe Architect’s standing in the Seniors Housing and Aged Care sector was further recognized when Leo Campbell was awarded “The Most Outstanding Architect in Over 50s Housing in the World in 2011” at the GLOBALS OVER 50s HOUSING – HEALTHCARE Awards on the 24th November 2011 at Grosvenor House in London UK.
